Celtics star Derrick White gets hit in the HEAD while watching Deion Sanders’ Colorado football team

  • Derrick White was in Colorado to watch his former school play their rivals
  • But things turned violent as Colorado began to take control of the game

Celtics star Derrick White was involved in a physical altercation over the weekend at a Colorado football game.

White, who played for the school’s basketball team from 2015-17, was in Boulder watching Deion Sanders’ squad play their rivals Colorado State.

And things got chippy in the second quarter, with TMZ reporting that the Boston guard got into a ‘verbal spat’ with some Colorado State fans nearby.

From there, things turned violent as a man swung his arm into the side of White’s head and even knocked his hat off.

That decision caused a scuffle to break out (beyond just White), as he tried to reach back over towards the CSU fans.

However, others stepped in to separate White from the instigating fans and the violence eventually died down after a couple minutes of grappling.

At one point, White played peacemaker himself as he dragged what looked to be a Colorado fan away from a CSU fan and gently sat him on the ground.

White helped the fan up and TMZ said that law enforcement was on the scene to help de-escalate the broader situation.

The outlet also said that no police report was filed, citing what they heard from cops.

Colorado beat their rivals 28-9.

White won his first NBA championship this June as the Celtics beat the Mavericks in a five-game NBA Finals.

He then went to Paris as a member of the USA Olympic basketball team, where he also picked up a gold medal.
