Chaka Khan SLAMS Adele, Mariah Carey and Mary J. Blige

Chaka Khan has slammed the ‘blind bat b***es’ who ranked her at No. 29 on the Rolling Stone list of the 200 best singers of all time.

Published on New Year’s Day, the list featured such boldface names as Beyoncé, Adele and Mariah Carey ahead of Chaka.

Appearing on Los Angeles Magazine’s podcast The Originals, Chaka, 69, claimed never to have even heard of the list before the host mentioned it.

When she was told Adele was ahead of her, Chaka groused: ‘Okay, I quit,’ and when she heard Mariah was at No. 5 she said: ‘That must be payola or some s*** like that.’

Upon hearing that Mary J. Blige was ranked before her, Chaka erupted: ‘These b****es are blind as a motherf***ing bat! They need hearing aids. They don’t have hearing aids? They have no eyes. They have no ears. They must have a – these b****es, you know what? These must be be the children of Helen Keller!’

Chaka and Mary have had a checkered relationship over the decades, but in recent years they appeared to have reached a rapprochement.

In 1992 Mary released a cover of Sweet Thing, a song Chaka introduced in 1975 when she was a member of the band Rufus.

Evidently the cover did not pass muster with Chaka, who began describing Sweet Thing in her own concerts as ‘the song Mary J. Blige f***ed up.’

By 2007 however the two women seemed to have mended fences well enough that they recorded a breakup duet called Disrespectful.

On the new podcast, when Chaka was told Beyoncé was up at eighth place on the Rolling Stone list, she hesitated and then replied: ‘I’m not gonna comment on that.’

Chaka, who years ago denied reports she called Beyoncé a ‘b****,’ said: ‘I don’t have anything to say about Beyoncé. She’s a great singer, okay?’

She added: ‘She really has opportunity to be a great singer. She has what it takes. She got the chops, she does, okay?’

Joan Baez was at the low end of the list at No. 189, prompting Chaka to observe: ‘Let’s be honest, the b*** cannot sing. Now she was a good writer.’

Aretha Franklin meanwhile was at the top spot – ‘as she f***ing should be’ – and Whitney Houston was in second place, which Chaka thought was ‘great.’

Debbie Harry trailed behind at No. 160 ”cause she can’t sing either,’ Chaka scoffed, while Christina Aguilera being at No. 141 was ‘whatever. A lot of black people like Christina Aguilera. She’s all right.’

Not one to mince words with regard to her fellow singers, Chaka previously laid into Ariana Grande in a 2020 interview with comedian Luenell on VladTV.

Ariana sang with Chaka on the song Nobody for the flop 2018 Charlie’s Angels movie starring Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska.

When Luenell asked if Chaka would work with Ariana again, Chaka said: ‘Nah, f*** her,’ laughing and shaking her head. ‘No, she’s all right. She’s good on her own.’

Chaka explained that ‘I don’t wanna sing with another woman. I ain’t got nothing to say, okay, with a woman. You say it by yourself. Say what you – and we ain’t gonna talk about no man. We’re not gonna do none of that stuff. It’s not happening, okay?’

Luenell gleefully called her a ‘boss b***’ after her answer and Chaka vamped: ‘I’m not gonna do no song with no heifer.’

However in the same interview she said: ‘She’s a great singer. She’s her own planet too. Her own planet, and you know, she’s great. I get her. I got her. I love her. Bam.’
