Channel 10 has revealed the big lesson Shane Warne’s appearance on I’m A Celebrity taught them.

During his appearance on the show back in 2016, Shane was allowed to smoke while in the jungle.

Network Ten’s head of entertainment and factual programs, Stephen Tate told The Herald Sun: ‘Shane Warne taught us a lesson and that is we cannot make exceptions. If we make an exception for one, we make an exception for all.’

‘Shane was very open with us about needing to smoke and we made a concession. There were other smokers in the camp who went, “well, that is unfair” so we had to agree to let them smoke too.’

Tate said the network hasn’t made any special exceptions for contestants since.

The eighth season of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here is currently airing on Ten.

During Thursday’s episode, NRL star Beau Ryan sensationally quit the show.

The 36-year-old made the shock announcement during a late-night discussion with his campmates, where he abruptly said he missed his family and needed to leave.

‘As you know the last couple of days I’ve been struggling, and today I was a bit broken. It’s been really hard for me,’ he said.

‘The reason I did this show is to test myself, which I have. I’ve shown Australia the good, bad and ugly of me.

‘I’ve had some moments where I regret, some moments I don’t and I’m proud of everything that’s happened.’

He added that he ‘can’t explain’ how it feels to have met such a wonderful group of people, before saying how he needed to be with his wife Kara and their daughter Remi, eight, and three-year-old son, Jesse.

‘I remember growing up and a guy two houses down from me – the dad was always away for work. I don’t want to be that dad,’ he said.

‘My kids need their dad. My wife needs a husband, and I need to find myself back.

‘I came in here to prove myself. I can’t gain anything else from this show. My journey here is over, and I love you guys.’

He then uttered the famous words: ‘I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here.’
