Channel Nine star Leila McKinnon reveals shock health scare from hospital bed

Leila McKinnon has shared some shocking snaps from hospital after undergoing surgery.

The Channel Nine reporter took to Instagram on Thursday to reveal she had an operation on her knee to remove a pin inserted after a 2022 fall.

Leila shared a selfie as she lay in bed, and also shared an image of her leg, which was a vibrant pink colour. 

‘I may or may not be as high as a kite right now after another delightful knee operation,’ she informed her followers in the caption.

‘But something alarming appears to have happened… is my leg pink? Surgical team did play some brilliant Chappell Roan tunes for me btw,’ she added.

Leila’s fans took to the comments to wish her a swift recovery and to remark on the colour of her leg.

‘Hope you feel better soon,’ said one follower, while another wrote, ‘Dear God, legendary Pink Pony Club leg,’ referring to Chappell Roan’s hit song.

‘When you take Pink Pony Club a bit too literally. Still looking hawt in a hospital robe,’ one follower added.

‘Very pink!!! Hope all went well,’ another fan said, while someone else asked the question on everyone’s lips: ‘What the hell is that pink?’

Leila explained that the discolouration came from a post-op disinfectant.

The mother-of-two shared an image to Instagram at the time where she was seen laying in her hospital bed. 

In her caption, Leila explained that she had to get a pin in her shattered knee as she shared images of her X-Rays. 

‘Hey what did you do on the school holidays? I don’t want to show off or anything but I got a fancy piercing in my knee…’ she wrote. 

‘Did I? a) throw myself into a mosh pit to get closer to Harry Styles? b) throw myself at a mountain at high speed? c) throw myself down the stairs in a high-heel related accident?’ 

While she did not specify which, at the time, Leila had not appeared to have attended a concert or visited a mountain.
