Chaos as Vodafone network crashes, impacting thousands of customers

Customers of major telecommunications provider Vodafone have reported their mobile phone service has crashed leaving many Aussies without reception. 

Consumers of the telco in major capital cities including Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane reported they were not able to access their mobile phone service on Wednesday afternoon. 

Online website Down Detector which tracks mobile phone, internet, banking and social media outages reported that thousands of services provided by company were down as of 4.30pm.

A spokesperson from Vodaphone said technical issues had led to the outage which disrupted ‘mobile services including calls and data’. 

The problem is understood to have been fixed. 

‘Our technical teams have resolved the issue and services are returning to normal,’ the spokesperson told 7 News. 

‘We apologise to our customers for the inconvenience, and thank them for their patience.’
