Chargers RB Gordon (ankle) to play vs. Raiders

Melvin Gordon is not fully healthy, but he is planning to play Sunday as the Los Angeles Chargers fight for the final playoff spot in the AFC.

Gordon was hurt in the fourth quarter of the Chargers’ 14-7 win over the New York Jets in Week 16.

Gordon is over the 1,000-yard mark rushing and has become one of quarterback Philip Rivers’ top receivers with 52 receptions for 455 yards and four touchdowns.

The Chargers are behind the Tennessee Titans for the final wild-card spot in the AFC. But if the Titans lose to the AFC South division champion Jacksonville Jaguars and the Chargers beat the Raiders, Los Angeles would take the No. 6 spot in the AFC playoffs.

The Jaguars are locked into the No. 3 spot in the AFC, but head coach Doug Marrone said Jacksonville intends to play to win on Sunday instead of giving regulars a week off.
