Charlie Hunnam looks beaten up and scruffy while leaving set in character for new film Jungleland

He recently revealed that playing Jax Teller in Sons Of Anarchy was ‘the deepest experience’ of his acting career.

But Charlie Hunnam looked to be bringing plenty of intensity to his new role too, with the English actor seen leaving the set of his film Jungleland looking beaten and bruised on Friday.

The 38-year-old, who plays the brother of a bareknuckle boxer in the forthcoming film, sported an impressive cut above his right eye.

Hunnam also sported a scruffy blonde beard for the new film.

Clad in sweatpants, trainers and a collared shirt, the breakout star of TV series Undeclared appeared to have duct tape wrapped firmly around his left leg.

In the film, Hunnam plays the brother of a bareknuckle boxer (played by Jack O’Connell) who gambles on his sibling’s bouts and ends up in debt.

The two brothers set off on a cross-country trip searching for one final fight that they hope will save them from financial ruin.

Meanwhile Charlie has said he won’t be appearing in the Sons of Anarchy spinoff Mayans MC.

The actor was asked by ET if his character Jax Teller might make an appearance despite him dying in the show’s finale.

‘No, no… I had the deepest experience of my career coming out of that,’ he explained of Sons of Anarchy ending in 2014. ‘I had become that character, had become so deeply integrated into who I was, I literally didn’t realize until the day we wrapped and we put him to rest and I felt I went through a period of two or three weeks of, like, real bereavement.’

‘I would never bring him back from the dead for something like that… It was seven years of my life. He sort of became sacred to me.’
