Charlotte Church’s ex Gavin Henson is looking for a new head chef for his pub and restaurant The Fox on a £45K salary and four-day work week with cash reward for immediate start

Gavin Henson is offering a £45,000 salary for a new head chef for his pub and restaurant The Fox in St Brides Major in the Vale of Glamorgan.

The former rugby player, 40, has made an appeal on social media for a new chef after the hospitality industry has suffered a shortage of staff since the pandemic.

Gavin, who shares two children with his former fiancée Charlotte Church, became the landlord of the venue back in 2019.

The ad offers a salary of up to £45,000 for the successful candidate, along with a pension and four-day work week. 

In his job ad, Gavin wrote: ‘I NEED A HEAD CHEF!!! Up to 45k, only open 4 days a week, over 6k tips per annum, Pension contribution. CASH REWARD FOR IMMINENT START.

‘Open link below if interested. The Fox are looking for a creative and talented head chef with a genuine passion for creating memorable dishes.’

The ad reads: ‘The successful candidate will be joining a small family run business with a strong philosophy for work life balance, together we work as a team to achieve excellence in a supportive and fun environment.’

The job ad also says that the successful candidate should have ‘good leadership skills’, be ‘self-motivated’ and be ‘proactive in recruitment on a flexible budget’. 

Charlotte and Gavin began dating back in 2005  and got engaged in 2010, but split up just six weeks later.

The former couple are parents to Ruby, 14, and Dexter, 13, while Charlotte shares 20-month-old Frida with husband Johnny Powell.

Gavin is now married to wife Katie Wilson Mould, with whom he co-owns The Fox, and had a son with in December 2020.

The former sports star took on the job of running the pub after hanging up his rugby boots. 

Speaking to the Daily Mail about the venture, he said: ‘It coincided well with me finishing rugby – I didn’t have that down time.’ 

Gavin won 33 caps for the Welsh team during his rugby career and one for the British & Irish Lions.

He has also participated in several reality shows over the years including Strictly Come Dancing, The Bachelor and Celebrity Hunted.
