A young woman was allegedly sexually touched twice by a man in a busy shopping centre as police release an image of a person they wish to speak to.

The woman, 20, was walking along Albert Street in Chatswood, on Sydney’s Lower North Shore, when the man allegedly touched her at about 3.30pm on Saturday.

She then tried to move away and was allegedly followed and touched a second time at the Chatswood Interchange.

The woman then hid in the female toilets and called a friend who contacted police.

Police have released an image of a man they believe can assist with their inquiries.

They have appeal for the public’s help in identifying him.

The man is described as white in appearance, aged 25 to 30, with light brown hair, a light beard and a slim build.

He was wearing cream shorts with banana patterns, a khaki t-shirt, brown baseball hat and thongs.

Officers attached to North Shore Police Area Command are investigating the circumstance surrounding the alleged incident.
