Cheeky! Maneskin’s VMAs performance seemingly got censored as Damiano David flashed his bare bottom

Maneskin’s frontman Damiano David flashed his bare bottom on stage while rocking just a pair of black chaps over a jock strap while performing at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. 

While playing their track Supermodel, released in May, the 23-year-old Italian rock singer showed off his hunky frame and tattoo collection as he went shirtless on stage in his backless leather pants with daring cut-outs on the thighs.

Despite the band thrilling audiences on stage, fans were quick to point out much of the performance was censored after bassist Victoria De Angelis seemingly having a wardrobe malfunction.

Twitter users expressed their frustration redacted act, with one dissatisfied viewer tweeting: ‘What was with the performance not being fully seen?? Technical difficulties? Something censored??’

‘Probably Vic’s pastie falling off if anything????’ another speculated, while some pleaded for ‘justice’ over the fact that ‘Nicky can simulate masturbating on stage, but Victoria de Maneskin can’t show a covered nipple.’

‘I can’t believe that Maneskin has the most exciting set of the whole #vmas & MTV censored the whole damn set!!!! Justice for Maneskin!!!,’ one social media user fired.

The performance comes after taking home their first VMA win for best alternative video for their song, I Wanna Be Your Slave.

Following the win, David confessed the band ‘didn’t expect to [win].’ 

‘There’s a lot of great, great artists here, so it’s an honor for us, of course,’ they told Entertainment Tonight. 

In May, Maneskin gushed to Billboard about working with Swedish record producer Max Martin on Supermodel.

‘It was cool because Max and all of his team, they never tried to force us to do something that we didn’t want to do,’ David told the outlet. ‘He basically wanted to understand how we work and how we’re used to making music and what makes us happy about music.’

David added that Martin asked: ‘How can I help you to make it global?’

‘It was fun because we were used to writing only by jamming. This new thing of using computers and stuff was really mind blowing for us,’ the star raved.
