Cheerful Melania Trump bops to YMCA at Mar-a-Lago NYE bash

Melania Trump danced and bopped away to YMCA as she rang in the New Year with her husband’s favorite song at Mar-a-Lago.

The incoming First Lady wore a large smile on her face as she swayed to the Village People gay anthem on Tuesday night.

Her husband enjoyed the moment as he delighted onlookers with his signature dance moves, which became a regular sight at Trump’s rallies throughout the year on his way back into the White House.

Melania was less subtle in her moves, but was seen in footage that circulated across social media belting out the chorus.

Fans quickly praised the First Lady’s efforts, with one X user saying: ‘Never in my life did I think Melania Trump would be jamming to YMCA on New Year’s.’

‘Trump has infected the whole country, including his family and Elon Musk, with his dance moves. Everyone is doing it.’

‘Love Melania doping her own moves to YMCA,’ another said. ‘And how some people can’t crack a smile at Trump doing his dance is beyond me.’

It came as Trump hosted the annual New Year’s event at his Palm Beach, Florida club, which was littered with political heavyweights and Trump world insiders including Elon Musk, JD Vance, Donald Trump Jr and his new girlfriend Bettina Anderson.

Melania also won plaudits for her elegant look at the New Year’s gala, wearing a plunging black dress with a thigh-high split.

Donald, 78, for this part, wore a smart black tuxedo, complete with a bowtie – which led some fans to also gush over his slimmed down appearance.

Some gushed over how ‘amazing,’ he looked, with one person writing, ‘President Trump looks healthier than he did during his first administration. He looks amazing.’

‘He’s not using that fake orange tanner anymore. He looks so much better and healthier without it,’ another responded.

Another agreed and said: ‘First thing I noticed. He looks fit and ready to get this country back in shape.’

The event also saw a surprise performance from Lara Trump, the former RNC co-chair and wife of the president-elect’s son Eric Trump, who belted out a cover of Tom Petty’s ‘I Won’t Back Down.’

Attendees could not take their eyes off Lara as she belted-out the classic rock tune, with Musk seen holding his son X on his shoulders as he intently watched and listened to Lara.

While walking the red carpet as he arrived at Mar-A-Lago with Melania, the President-Elect was asked what he was looking forward to in the coming year.

‘Just a great year, I think we’re gonna do fantastically well as a country,’ he predicted.

‘We’re gonna bring it back. It has to be brought back. People are not respecting our country very much and they’re gonna respect us a lot.’

He then talked about the hard work that has gone into the transition, with the inauguration just a few weeks away.

‘I think a lot of progress has been made over the last five weeks. It’s been pretty amazing when you look at what’s happened,’ he said.

Donald added that he believes that the entire planet has been uplifted following his victory over Kamala Harris.

‘There’s a light over the whole world, not just our country. There’s a lot of very happy people,’ he said.

When asked, aside from the election, what his highlight of 2024 was, he revealed that it was ‘the fact that we’re gonna have a great nation again.’

‘We’re gonna’ bring it back better than it ever was,’ he concluded.

He was also asked about his New Year’s resolution but politely deferred, saying: ‘I just want everybody to be happy, healthy and well.’
