Chelsea gear up for FA Cup fifth round clash with Hull

  • Chelsea host Hull City in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Friday evening
  • The Blues returned to winning ways by beating West Brom on Monday night
  • Antonio Conte put his men through their paces in Cobham on Wednesday 

With no Champions League action until next week, Chelsea were put through their paces at their Cobham training ground ahead the visit of Hull in the FA Cup fifth-round on Friday night.

Antonio Conte’s men returned to winning ways with a comfortable 3-0 victory over West Brom on Monday and looked in good spirits as they got back down to work on Wednesday.

The team worked on their strength and conditioning before going through a number of passing and shooting drills in a high intensity session on a chilly day in Surrey.

A number of the squad’s second string looked eager to impress knowing they will likely get a chance on Friday with a showdown with Spanish giants Barcelona next on the agenda.  

Willy Caballero and Danny Drinkwater are likely to feature while Emerson Palmieri could also get handed his debut.

Ross Barkley is out with a hamstring injury but Alvaro Morata is in line to make a return to the starting line-up. 

The competition marks the Blues’ best chance of winning a trophy this season with their title defence as good as over and the Champions League as competitive as its ever been.
