Chelsea prospect Tino Anjorin is set to join Huddersfield Town until the end of the season after cutting short his loan spell at Lokomotiv Moscow.

During his time for Lokomotiv, he made just two starts in the Russian Premier League.

He was briefly linked with Southampton, but they will be made to wait with their attempts until the summer should they look to secure his services.

The Saints have previously raided Chelsea for young defender Tino Livramento signing him on a permanent deal.

They also swooped for Armando Broja, who joined the South Coast club on loan until the end of the current campaign.

Anjorin was dubbed the ‘next Kevin De Bruyne’ by Manchester United interim-manager Ralf Rangnick when the Red Devils boss was Head of Sports and Development with the Russian club.

The Poole-born youngster made his Chelsea debut as an 18-year-old in the Blues’ 7-1 win over Grimsby Town in the Carabao Cup in September 2019.

He has made one Premier League appearance for Chelsea, coming off the bench in a 4-0 win over Everton in March 2020 under Frank Lampard.

Thomas Tuchel gave him a chance when he came off the bench against Barnsley in the FA Cup last season.

Anjorin will now head to West Yorkshire to join fellow Chelsea loanee Levi Colwill and help the Terriers’ promotion push.

Carlos Corberan’s side are currently seventh, just outside the play-off spots.
