  • Christian Pulisic’s Chelsea future is uncertain after attacking arrivals last month
  • Real Madrid could move for the American to increase their wide options
  • Eden Hazard and Marco Asensio could move on from Real Madrid in the summer

Christian Pulisic has reportedly emerged as a potential transfer target for Real Madrid in the summer, with the reigning European champions seeking depth in wide positions.

The American has increasingly been linked with a move away from Chelsea, amid a struggle for form and the Blues recent influx of attacking talent.

Spanish outlet Defensa Central reported that Real Madrid are considering a move for the 24-year-old.

Pulisic would be considered as the Spanish champions seek to add depth, with Eden Hazard and Marco Asensio’s futures at the club in doubt.

Hazard has endured a nightmare spell since signing for Real Madrid from Chelsea, while Asensio is now in the final months of his contract at the Bernabeu.

Pulisic’s versatility and and pace are among the assets which would make the American an attractive addition to the squad.

Pulisic joined Chelsea in 2019 for £58million in a move from German side Borussia Dortmund.

He has struggled for consistency since joining the Blues, notching up 26 goals in 136 appearances.

Pulisic has made 16 appearances in the Premier League since season, but has only made six league starts for the Blues.

The American is currently recovering from a knee injury sustained during Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat to Manchester City on January 5.

He faces an uphill battle to regain a place in Chelsea’s starting eleven, with Mykhailo Mudryk, Joao Felix and Noni Madueke among those to join the club in January.

Chelsea are keen to trim their squad in the summer and Pulisic – who was open to leaving the club in January with Man United and Newcastle keen on the 24-year-old – is reportedly set to lead the departures.

Atletico Madrid have also been mentioned as a potential suitor for the American, whose contract expires in June 2024.
