Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech has taken to social media to make a dig at Al-Nassr after his transfer to the Saudi Arabian side collapsed.

The Moroccan winger was set for a lucrative pay day in a move that would have seen him link up with Cristiano Ronaldo in the Middle East.

However, Ziyech’s £8million move to Al-Nassr was called off after his medical revealed the 30-year-old was suffering from a knee issue.

Al-Nassr tried to renegotiate Ziyech’s contract as a result of the medical but could the two parties failed to reach an agreement.

Therefore, Ziyech returned to Cobham for pre-season training with the Chelsea squad – taking to social media to make a subtle dig as Al-Nassr.

Ziyech shared a picture of himself sitting on the floor after a training session with the caption: ‘Knee problems right?’ with two laughing face emojis.

The situation with Al-Nassr marked Ziyech’s second failed transfer from Stamford Bridge following the collapse of a prospective January loan move to PSG.

On that occasion Chelsea controversially failed to complete the paperwork on his potential move to Paris Saint-Germain before the deadline.

PSG were furious with the situation and launched an appeal to ratify the transfer. However, the French football authorities rejected their claim.

Christophe Galtier said he was disappointed about the collapse of the deal as PSG had worked hard to replace Pablo Sarabia who had joined Wolves.

He went on to state that the ‘responsibility’ did not lie with the Ligue 1 giants as they had a ‘quality workforce’ in place for the transfer.

Ziyech, who was signed for £33m from Ajax in 2020, played 24 times last season but the majority of his appearances came off the bench.

The 30-year-old still has two years left on his contract, in what has been a dismal spell with the Premier League giants.

Chelsea will now sound out alternative clubs in the hope of finding a landing spot for the winger before the transfer window closes.
