Chelsea defender Levi Colwill wants talks with Mauricio Pochettino over his future at the club.

The Blues rejected a £30m approach from Brighton last month and are adamant they have no intention of parting with Colwill this summer.

Brighton though are willing to offer £40m for Colwill, who impressed on loan with the Seagulls last season. 

Colwill is not the only transfer saga ongoing between the two clubs, with Chelsea keen to sign midfielder Moises Caicedo.

During talks over a deal for the 21-year-old Ecuador international, the Blues have said that Colwill is not for sale.

The 20-year-old made 17 Premier League appearances for Brighton last term, helping Roberto De Zerbi’s men qualify for the Europa League for the first time in their history. 

He enjoyed his time on the south coast and working under Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi, having been presented with the opportunity to play regular first team football.

This season has also seen him establish himself in England’s Under-21 side, and he is playing a key role in the European Championships where the Three Lions have reached the semi-finals. 

He is viewed as one of the hottest prospects in his position the country, and Chelsea are keen to keep hold of Colwill, with newly-appointed manager Pochettino seeing him as part of his future plans.

The Blues have been happy to let some of their academy graduated leave in the past, allowing fellow centre backs Fikayo Tomori and Marc Guehi to move to AC Milan and Crystal Palace respectively in 2021.

They are set to lose another player that has come through the ranks at Stamford Bridge in Mason Mount, with Manchester United agreeing a £60m fee for the England international.
