Chennedy Carter SLAMS Caitlin Clark on social media after refusing to answer reporters’ questions on shove – and insists: ‘I’d rather you hate me than love me’

Chennedy Carter has slammed Caitlin Clark on social media after bodychecking the Indiana Fever rookie on Saturday in a now-viral moment.

Following the game, Carter had refused to answer reporters’ questions on why she shoved Clark, but criticized the guard later on Threads.

Replying to video of her post-game press conference – with a caption (from another user) that said ‘Kudos to all of this women they have really made WNBA interesting’ – Carter fired back.

‘[And] that’s that on that cause beside three point shooting what does [Clark] bring to the table man,’ she wrote.

Clark is averaging 16.9 points, 5.4 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game, though she’s also coughing up 5.6 turnovers per contest.

Carter also alluded to her beef with Clark on her own Instagram story, writing, ‘I grew up with all brothers. All we did is fight and argue. I love the hate more than the love what don’t yall understand. I’d rather you hate me [than] love me and I mean that on my dead aunt.’

Things got chippy between Clark and Carter on Saturday, as the latter appeared to yell ‘you b***h’ at the former Iowa star as she knocked her to the ground.

Extended video of the sequence also appears to show Clark jawing at Carter as they made their way down the court following an Aaliyah Boston basket.

Following the play, which came towards the end of the third quarter, Clark spoke to the ESPN broadcast at the end of the period.

‘That’s just not a basketball play but I’ve got to play through it, that’s what basketball is about at this level,’ she said.

Meanwhile, Carter said after the game, ‘I ain’t answering no Caitlin Clark questions. I don’t know what she said. I didn’t say anything.’

The situation sparked the notion that the Fever need an ‘enforcer’ to protect Clark, as suggested by the Warriors’ Draymond Green.

With a slew of endorsement deals, a signature shoe and a laundry list of college records, it’s not hard to imagine why Clark may be a target for opposing teams.
