Cheryl admits regrets over going blonde in L’Oreal campaign

Cheryl has laughed off the ‘hideous’ blonde locks she used to have.

Starring in a new L’Oreal Elvive campaign, which she shared on Instagram on Thursday, the singer reflected on her bad hair days as she laughed off the incident.

She recalled: ‘There was a phase I went through where I always wanted to experiment, I wanted blonde hair like Beyonce so sat for 12 hours in a salon only for it to look hideous!’

She continued: ‘Part of what I do as a job comes under a lot scrutiny and people do look at my hair… as I’ve grown over the years it just becomes less relevant.’

Cheryl – a L’Oréal Paris Brand Ambassador since 2009 – looked sensational in the video, proving less is more as she dazzled in a plain white T-shirt and jeans.

Cheryl celebrated the complicated and emotional relationship with hair, as she spoke about how ‘her hair takes a beating from all the styling and definitely needs some love’.

Cheryl has tested out a number of different styles over the years, from blonde highlights during the Girls Aloud days to a more vibrant dark red while a judge on The X Factor.

However the singer, who welcomed son Bear in March 2017, recently revealed she dyes her hair in order to cover up greys, and maintain a simpler look as a mother.

She told MailOnline of her colour choice: ‘I wanted to go back to my natural colour after I had the baby so I didn’t have to worry about the upkeep.’

Cheryl welcomed her first child with boyfriend Liam Payne – but their relationship has come under scrutiny in recent weeks.

The pair are currently on a family holiday with their tot, amid months of speculation over the state of their romance.

Only worsening speculation, Liam was pictured looking cosy with his backing dancing Chloe Ferns during a work trip to Dubai over the Easter weekend, forcing Cheryl to hit back at the rumours.

The singer insisted the claims were ‘stupid’ shortly after confirming Chloe was ‘an innocent colleague’.

Cheryl drew attention to the fact her ‘long-term friend and manager was present’ — echoing MailOnline’s reports.

The songstress also confirmed reports that her pop star beau was planning to whisk her away for a ‘make-or-break’ holiday.

Also Cheryl referenced a snap Liam posted with Katy Perry earlier in the week, amid reports she was annoyed he looked cosy with the Teenage Dream hitmaker in Japan.

She penned: ‘I can’t ignore this story involving an innocent dancer colleague of Liam’s who has a fiancé and dragging them into this desperate attempt to try to cause problems between Liam and I…

‘The other “mystery woman” in the story happens to be my long term friend and manager (that’s embarrassing). I also happen to love Katy Perry. Now.. off on our holiday. And the only thing we’re making are memories. And breaking is our healthy eating toodles’.

Glasgow-born dancer Chloe is engaged to property developer Darren McNiven and regularly performs alongside Liam, most noticeably at this month’s Global Awards.

In the pictures, Liam and Chloe appeared to be letting his hair down in the glamorous venue as he chatted away to the Cheryl lookalike, ahead of his Good Friday performance at Dubai’s Global Village.
