Cheryl Burke and Matthew Lawrence finalize their divorce just seven months after legally filing to end marriage of three years

Cheryl Burke and Matthew Lawrence have finalized their divorce just seven months after legally filing to end their marriage of three years.  

Th exes officially dissolved their union on Monday, September 19, according to court documents obtained by Us Weekly.

While Burke, 38, and Lawrence, 42, have decided to honor their prenuptial agreement, they will continue hashing it out over custody of their dog Ysabella in the days ahead.

The exes agreed to observe the conditions set forth in their prenuptial agreement less than a week before officially finalizing their union, according to Us Weekly.

According to the agreement, Burke will retain all of her Dancing With The Stars and QVC royalties and earnings.

Lawrence will also retain all of his own royalties.

People reports that neither star requested spousal support as they both have agreed to adhere to their prenuptial agreement.

In addition, the duo agreed last week to evenly split their two properties. Burke will receive one home while Lawrence will keep the other, according to People. 

Burke filed for divorce earlier this year, just three years after tying the knot with Lawrence.

Taking to social media to share the news, the Dancing with the Stars performer wrote, ‘I know I have always said I’m an open book with you guys, I do strive to be, and in writing this I’ve realized there really isn’t an easy way to announce that my marriage is ending.’

In May, Burke  gave some insight into how she’s faring during an interview with Extra.

‘As far as me and how this is going, it’s really, I’m not proud of it, it’s a s*** show,’ she admitted.

‘My emotions are constantly up and down, I’m sad every morning I wake up, I am sad every time I go to bed at night,’ she revealed.

‘It’s really nothing to hide here as far as like divorce sucks. I don’t recommend it, but at the end of the day, you know, it’s not like we didn’t try and I know we gave it a good shot,’ the entertainer shared.

Cheryl was promoting a new podcast in which her listeners will help her through the process of moving forward after her divorce.

She admitted that ‘the word dating makes me want to throw up a little bit right now, so I’m clearly not ready for that’ but added that she wants to ‘eventually, hopefully find love.’
