Kansas City Chiefs free safety Bryan Cook was carted off the field after suffering a gruesome ankle injury against the Green Bay Packers.

After tackling Packers running back AJ Dillon in the third quarter, Cook’s ankle appeared to get caught underneath him and bend back in the wrong direction.

Players on the sideline immediately gathered around him as he was tended to by trainers and loaded on to the cart with tears running from his eyes.

The NBC broadcast elected not to show the replay of the injury.

He was initially ruled as questionable before his condition was updated to being ruled out for the contest.
