Isiah Pacheco has laughed off some of the ‘crazy’ jokes being made about his running style ahead of the Chiefs’ AFC Championship Game against the Ravens.

Pacheco has been a crucial weapon in the Kansas City offense this season, recording 935 rushing yards and seven touchdowns as Andy Reid’s side close in on another Super Bowl.

The 24-year-old has, however, been the subject of mockery for his running style on the field.

And ahead of Sunday’s trip to Baltimore, Pacheco was asked whether he had seen any of the jokes.

‘The funniest one that I thought was they said that I run like I bite people,’ he said with a smile – while wearing a personalized hoodie. ‘I ain’t no zombie! That was crazy. That was one of the funniest ones.’

To the reporter, he continued: ‘You said “I run like I bite the ground or grass” – that’s crazy. It’s a great opinion. For me, it’s just being determined and that I have a goal to achieve, and we want to get the job done.’

Pacheco has been dealing with a toe injury and did not practice on Wednesday but he is expected to play against the Ravens this weekend.

Reid dubbed Pacheco the Chiefs’ ‘Energizer Bunny’. He has rushed for at least 75 yards and one touchdown in each of his last three playoff appearances.

Last year, Pacheco set a Kansas City postseason rushing record (197 yards). Across games against the Dolphins and Bills this season, he has amassed 186 yards.

Another 12 yards in Baltimore would see Pacheco break his own record. His performances have caught the eye of Taylor Swift, who was seen shouting Pacheco’s name following his TD in Buffalo.
