- Child was airlifted to hospital
A child is in a critical condition in hospital after being attacked by a crocodile in Kakadu National Park.
The nine-year-old was flown to Royal Darwin Hospital after the attack on Saturday near Munmalary Homestead, which is between the South Alligator and East Alligator Rivers, inside Kakadu.
CareFlight NT told the NT News the patient was airlifted from Jabiru at 9pm Saturday in a stable but critical condition.
‘The patient was transported to the Jabiru Community Health Centre, CareFlight’s specialist doctor and flight nurse treated the patient at the Jabiru clinic,’ a CareFlight spokeswoman said.
CareFlight operates the Top End Medical Retrieval Service on behalf of the Northern Territory Government.
Parks Australia has been contacted for comment.
