Child hit by a car north west of Sydney 

  • A young girl has been struck by a car in peak-hour traffic in Sydney’s north west
  • The female pedestrian – believed to be aged 12 – was hit by a Toyota Hilux 
  • She has been rushed to hospital with critical head injuries, police confirmed
  • The male driver of the Hilux is uninjured and has been taken away for testing

A child has been hit by a car in Baulkham Hills, north west of Sydney.

The young girl, who is believed to be aged 12, has been taken to Westmead Children’s with critical head injuries.

Parts of Windsor Road have been closed following an incident between a Toyota Hilux and pedestrian near Barina Downs Road at 4.35pm on Tuesday.

Paramedics have confirmed the female victim is in a critical condition and is ‘breathing but unconscious’. 

Traffic coming in from Old Northern Road to Norwest Boulevard is reportedly completely at a standstill.

The male driver of the Hilux was uninjured. He has been taken to Westmead Hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.

One lane is open westbound on Windsor Road and there are extensive delays in the area.
