Child rushed to hospital after being hit by a car in Biggera Waters on the Gold Coast

A young boy has been rushed to hospital after being struck by a car outside a childcare centre on the Gold Coast. 

Emergency services raced to the scene following an incident involving a pedestrian and vehicle in a car park on Pine Ridge Rd at Biggera Waters shortly before 10am on Tuesday. 

Queensland Ambulance confirmed the boy suffered injuries to his abdomen and legs and was taken to Gold Coast University in a serious condition. 

Queensland Police officers remain at the scene of the incident as an investigation into the circumstances into the incident was launched.
