In 2018, 171 patients were on the puberty blocker Leuprorelin.

The clinic did not provide data on the patients’ birth sex but of those receiving hormone treatment, most were given testosterone.

Medication used to block puberty will stop the development of secondary sex characteristics like chest growth or a voice breaking.

Gender-affirming hormone treatment, also known as cross hormone treatment, involves medications such as oestrogen or testosterone to align a person’s gender identity with their appearance.

This could include softer skin, changing a body shape and the development of a chest.
