Chilling surveillance video shows two gym friends leaving bar before fatal shooting

Police in Florida on Monday afternoon released chilling surveillance video from a bar where a 21-year-old woman was last seen alive early Saturday with her accused killer, just hours before the victim’s body was found in the female suspect’s driveway.

showing a 21-year-old shooting victim with her 51-year-old woman has been arrested after allegedly shooting a 21-year-old woman and dumping her body in her own driveway following a night out in Florida.

Yvonne Serrano, 51, called police at 5.55am Saturday to say there was a dead woman in front of her Coral Springs home.

She initially told officers she did not know Daniela Tabares Maya, but later said that she did.

Friends of Maya posted on Facebook after learning of her death. Megan Davies wrote: 'My gym lost a piece of our familia today in Daniela. One of our youngest gym members, she was as beautiful as she was kind, funny, sassy and hard working.'

Police discovered Maya, one foot hanging in the open door of a Nissan Kicks SUV, lying on her back with a gunshot wound through her forehead.

This afternoon, the Coral Springs Police Department investigating the homicide released a 30-second video from the World of Beer pub in Coconut Creek, showing Maya leaving the bar with Serrano to give her a ride home at 1.30am on Saturday.

The recording, which has no audio, shows Serrano dressed in a pair of jeans and a lacy white blouse, smiling and giving someone a high five, with Maya standing with her back turned to the camera.

After a brief exchange, Maya, also seen dressed in jeans and a white top, gives another woman a hug, then follows Serrano toward the exit.

Serrano and Maya had seen the new drama 21 Bridges, starring Chadwick Boseman, at around 7.30pm at Silverspot Cinema as part of a group who knew each other from the gym, Training For Warriors Coral Springs, before they all headed to the World of Beer pub, an affidavit obtained by DailyMail.com said.

The pair were ‘conversing, laughing and drinking for several hours,’ the court document said.

A friend of Maya’s told the Sun Sentinel she got a text from her at 1.25am saying: ‘I’m taking Yvonne home.’

Serrano and Maya were filmed by surveillance cameras leaving the pub together and further footage showed them pulling into Serrano’s drive at 2am.

When detectives arrived later in the morning, Serrano told them she had left the house in the 1600 block of Northwest 100th Drive in Maplewood Isles to go to the gym but called the police ‘immediately’ upon finding the body.

She said she had ‘blacked out’ at World of Beer and had no idea how she got home when she woke up in her bed.

Serrano later reportedly changed her story, telling detectives that she woke up sitting in a passenger seat in Maya’s car.

Maya died of a gunshot wound to the forehead outside Serrano’s home. The suspect initially told police she did not know who the victim was, but then changed her story

Investigators found she had recently washed a blood-stained dark tank top and also deleted Ring video footage filmed on a smart doorbell.

Serrano has a concealed carry permit and owns three handguns. Two 9mm pistols and a .45 caliber one.

She also told police said she had taken her Sig Sauer P365 to the pub. The gun, which was in Serrano’s bedroom, fires 9mm rounds.

The shell casing outside Maya’s Nissan came from a 9mm round.

Blood was found on the Sig Sauer and its holster, reported Local10.

Davies’ husband and business partner, Rick Davies, has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help Maya’s mother, Isabel, with her funeral expenses. As of Mondya morning, more than $7,200 has been raised.

‘Daniela is an inspiration,’ he wrote. ‘She is the shining example of what the best of us can only try to be. It shines through in the joy, laughter, and loving sassiness she shared with us. It shines through in the boundless love she gave us and the selfless care she took for the people around her. We cannot measure her loss.’

Serrano has been charged with second-degree murder and tampering with, or fabricating, physical evidence. She is being held at Broward County Jail.

Serrano’s neighbors told Sun Sentinel the woman is married and has grown children.

One of the people who know her from the neighborhood said Serrano has a reputation as a heavy drinker.
