China’s tourists can now enjoy it’s very own ‘Palace of Versailles’, a Baroque art museum turned from a factory by its owner from Qingyuan city, located in China’s south Guangdong province.
As the first art museum of its kind both in the city and in the province, it replicates the interior decoration style of France’s iconic mansion and is open to the public and even features fake ‘luxury’ art and exquisite wax works.
The ambitious businessman wanted to create ‘Versailles Qingyuan Royal Art Expo’ penned as the nation’s first ‘Baroque Art Expo’, the city hopes to introduce Western art to it’s visitors.

The project is in two phases, covering 50 acres, comprising the museum with extremely delicate golden furniture, clocks, fine porcelain, musical instruments, and extravagant paintings.
When people think of French classical art deco, they think of the magnificent Palace of Versailles, with its magnificent Baroque decorative arts, fine crystal chandeliers, fine paintings, ornate sculptures and luxury gold-plated furniture.
Inside the ‘Versailles Qingyuan Royal Art Expo’, it has many opulent rooms and even the walls are decorated extravagantly, filled with furniture that looks bright gold and gaudy.
The gaudy furnishings includes flamboyant candelabra, full body sculptures and artistic ornaments, and the walls are adorned with fake period artifacts and ‘nick nacks’

Versailles is a vast gallery of Baroque art, and in Qingyuan, visitors will be also be able to enjoy an array of Western-style taste of a huge art gallery in world paintings.
Tourists can also ‘meet’ their favourite celebrity as the museum features sculpted celebrity wax figures, modeled on the world famous Madame Tussards museum, in a bid to entice tourists to explore more culture of contemporary arts.
It is reported that the ‘Versailles Qingyuan Royal Art Expo’ is exhibiting only a small part of the actual plan and anticipates to develop the tourist feature in the near future with more experiences and opportunities to explore classic and contemporary art.
