Chocolate fans are ‘heartbroken’ after Cadbury discontinues the Dairy Milk Egg ‘n’ Spoons

‘I’m heartbroken!’ Chocolate fans are left devastated as Cadbury discontinues Dairy Milk Egg ‘n’ Spoons – weeks before Easter

Chocolate fans have been left ‘heartbroken’ after Cadbury discontinued Dairy Milk Egg ‘n’ Spoons – weeks before Easter.

First produced in 2013, Egg ‘n’ Spoons consisted of four chocolate eggs filled with either white chocolate or milk chocolate mousse.

The treats were nestled in a purple egg box with two spoons for scooping out the soft filling.

Cadbury have revealed the decision was made due to the ‘changing taste buds’ of their customers.

The popular treat has been around for 10 years and fans fumed that it was axed before Easter.

Cadbury released Oreo-based Egg ‘n’ Spoon chocolate eggs last year, which included a fluffy chocolate mousse with crunchy Oreo pieces.

In a statement today, the company said: ‘We’re always listening to our Cadbury fans to ensure our Easter  range includes their favourites and reflects their changing taste buds.

‘We’ve made a few changes to reflect this and think our 2023 line-up is eggcellent, even if we do say so ourselves!’

However chocolate fans were less than impressed and with some claiming it was ‘unacceptable.’

One person wrote: ‘@cadbury getting rid of the Egg n Spoons is absolutely disgraceful behaviour. unacceptable.

Another wrote: ‘Why would they just discontinue the egg n spoons like that. heartbroken.’

Someone else said: ‘NO DID THEY DISCONTINUE DAIRY MILK EGG N SPOON?’

While a fourth person wrote: ‘@CadburyUK hope you get bad karma for discontinuing the egg n spoon things.’

Last year, it was revealed which treats of past Christmases Britons would love to return in their ‘dream’ selection box tub.

A survey by Jackpotjoy of 2,000 British adults found 8 per cent would love to see the Cadbury Dream, a white chocolate bar that is only available to buy in B&M, return in miniature form.

Meanwhile others were craving the Echo bar, as well as the Mars Delight.
