Chris Christie caught by TSA trying to bypass security

Chris Christie learned the hard way this week that his VIP treatment expired at the same time as his governorship.

The former New Jersey governor was busted by airport security trying to bypass a TSA checkpoint at Newark Liberty International Airport on Thursday.

Christie attempted to use a ‘special access’ area near the exit of the restricted area of the terminal, according to CBS New York.

A Port Authority officer stopped Chris Christie and told him he is no longer was allowed to use that access.

He was then escorted by the officer, along with his State Police security detail, to the regular entrance.

Christie reportedly cooperated with instructions and reentered the airport.

New Jersey governors are allowed to have a trooper protect them for six months after they leave office.

Christie, whose term ended two days ago, chose to exercise the option.

Shortly before the end of his role as governor, Christie gave an explosive interview to NJ.com where he claimed he would be sitting in the White House had it not been for Donald Trump.

‘It’s incredibly frustrating to think to yourself, ‘Wow, if this guy were not in the race, we’d win this thing,” Christie said.

‘I absolutely believe if Trump had not gotten into the race I think we would have won.’

Democrat Phil Murphy was sworn in as the state’s 56th governor on Tuesday.
