This comes off news that Katy Perry may be joining the show and Ryan Seacrest may come back as host.

The 37-year-old has sold millions of records since leaving Idol.
Though Clarkson and Underwood are the biggest hits to come off the show, he comes in at number three.

UsWeekly added that ABC, the network that is launching the reboot, at first wanted only former contestants to be judges.
They looked at Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and Jennifer Hudson.
But their wish list was hard to pin down as some of the members, like Clarkson, had other ideas.
She is now slated to work on The Voice.

ABC announced earlier this month that the singing competition will be returning to TV after airing its final episode on Fox in April 2016.

Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell were the first judges.
Later came Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj, among others.
And toward the end it was Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick Jr.
