Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn crossed paths in hospital after settling their long-awaited grudge match on Saturday, according to a report.

Eubank Jr prevailed via unanimous decision in a bout that certainly lived up to the hype at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with all three judges scoring the contest 116-112.

He suffered a nasty cut above his eye in the latter rounds and was unable to attend the post-fight press conference as his doctor sent him to hospital.

There was also talk of a broken jaw with Benn himself claiming that he had heard this. However, this notion was later denied by Eubank Jr’s promoter who insisted his fighter’s health checks were purely precautionary.

Benn was also sent for precautionary checks at the hospital after he stayed to talk to the media and discuss his heartbreak in north London.

But when he was finally checked over, the 28-year-old found himself just two beds down from Eubank Jr, as per The Mirror.

It is unclear whether the fighters exchanged words at the hospital, but it seems like their hatred had somewhat boiled over after Saturday’s result, at least in the Benn corner.

After Eubank Jr consigned his opponent to the first loss of his career, Benn said: ‘He [Eubank Jr] still ain’t my cup of tea, you know what I mean?’

‘I still wouldn’t sit down and have a chat with him. But, of course there is [respect].

‘I mean… yeah … there’s respect obviously. We’ve gone 12 rounds together but … he’s Chris isn’t he? I like him as much as I possibly can given the situation.’

Of Eubank Jr’s trip to the hospital, Benn said: ‘I wish him well. I know he’s gone to the hospital. I’ve heard he’s got a broken jaw, so I wish him a speedy recovery.

‘I also want to thank [Chris Eubank] Sr for turning up because this really is a family affair and it wouldn’t have been what it was without Sr there.’

Saudi Arabia chief Turki Al-Sheikh revealed there are plans for a rematch to take place between the two later this year.

‘If they’re not injured and ready, we want the rematch in late September at Tottenham,’ he told Ring Magazine. The British fans were amazing and I thank them.’
