Traditionally, Prince Charming has appeared in classic fairy tales like Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and Rapunzel, often cast in a supporting role primarily tasked with rescuing the female protagonist from peril.
Meanwhile, King’s directing credits include 2023’s Wonka, 2014’s Paddington and its 2017 sequel Paddington 2.
Wonka was a box office success for Warner Bros., as the movie (starring Timothee Chalamet in the titular role) made $218 million in domestic box office revenue and $634 million worldwide, Box Office Mojo reported.
Both of the Paddington movies were commercial successes, as the 2014 movie made $76 million in domestic box office revenue and $332 million worldwide.
The sequel brought in $40 million in domestic box office and $283 million worldwide.
A third installment in the franchise, Paddington in Peru, lists King as an executive producer.
King was previously linked to the 2022 Pinocchio movie that Robert Zemeckis ultimately directed.

Currently, he lends his voice to Orion Pax, the future Optimus Prime, in the animated Transformers One.
