Fans at Ed Sheeran’s recent stadium show in Romania were treated to an unexpected and star-studded surprise when Chris Hemsworth took to the stage.
The Thor actor, known more for wielding a hammer than drumsticks, wowed the crowd as he played the drums alongside Sheeran in front of 70,000 ecstatic fans.
The surprise collaboration came after Hemsworth reached out to Sheeran last December.
The Australian actor, who has been working on a documentary focusing on cognitive health and the benefits of learning an instrument, decided to take up the challenge himself and learn the drums.
As part of his journey, Hemsworth visited the UK singer for some personal drumming lessons, and the result was nothing short of spectacular on stage.
On Sunday, Ed took to Instagram to share video footage of the incredible moment.
In the video, the singer explained: ‘So we’re here in Bucharest, basically what’s happening is Chris emailed me last December saying he’s doing a documentary on cognitive health and the benefits of learning an instrument.
‘He came to visit me, and he has learnt drums and now Cindy’s coming on stage in front of 70,000.’

The crowd erupted in applause and cheers as Hemsworth played alongside Sheeran’s band for the duration of the performance.
Clearly proud of his friend’s musical debut, Sheeran hyped up the audience, urging them to, ‘Make some noise for Chris Hemsworth! Give him a big round of applause, guys! You really did well.’
Hemsworth’s drumming skills were rewarded with a special ‘Participation Award,’ humorously presented to him by Sheeran’s crew.
The award, dubbed ‘The Participation Award for Drumming Excellence,’ was a playful nod to the actor’s efforts and his dedication to learning a new skill.
The actor’s surprise appearance at the concert has since gone viral, with fans flooding social media with praise for both Hemsworth’s drumming and Sheeran’s generous spirit in sharing the stage.
