Chrissy Teigen reveals her one regret about wedding to John Legend ten years ago: ‘I didn’t write my own vows’

Chrissy Teigen opened up to E! News about her ‘one big regret’ regarding her 2013 nuptials to husband John Legend.

The 37-year-old multihyphenate — who just renewed her vows with Legend — told the publication that she wished she’d written her pledge to her husband the first time around.

‘That’s been like, a big regret of mine,’ she revealed as she discussed their recent celebration to mark ten years married.

The couple and their brood of four children — Luna, 7, Miles, 5, Esti, 8 months and Wren, 3 months — flew to Lake Como, Italy earlier this month for an extravagant second wedding.

‘We were like, well, we’re gonna rewrite them and say them because I have a big hang-up that I didn’t write my own vows [in 2013], because I was so nervous and just insecure and stuff so I didn’t,’ Teigen dished.

As she reflected back on the special anniversary trip, Chrissy added, ‘So if anything it was a chance to redo it and be with people we love, and it worked.’

The cookbook author also shared that she and John got emotional during their romantic family-oriented getaway.

‘I looked over at him, and he was like, his eyes were like, filled with water,’ she recalled. ‘It was amazing. It was so beautiful.’

The Sports Illustrated cover star recently turned to social media to reflect on the trip.

She shared multiple outtakes from the extravaganza and wrote in the caption, ‘I have so many things to share from this insanely perfect and emotional weekend but I still have not been able to put all my thoughts together.’

‘All i can muster up right now is that I am so grateful for our friends, our family and our lives,’ she noted in the short but heartfelt message.

One image showed her dressed in a lacy black dress as she held her firstborn, Luna, close.

And another snap she shared featured her wrapped in a towel, holding Esti and Wren in her lap mid makeup application.

The couple met when the model starred in John’s 2007 music video for his song Stereo. They dated for six years before getting hitched after John proposed in 2011.

In 2021, Chrissy and John lost their son Jack 20 weeks into her pregnancy.

She later revealed that her late son’s passing was the result of a life-saving abortion, not a miscarriage as she had originally stated.

She explained that she made the ‘difficult decision’ to terminate the pregnancy after learning that neither she nor Jack were likely to survive without medical intervention.
