Christian Pulisic ‘is set to have his AC Milan medical within the next 24 hours’

Christian Pulisic ‘is set to have his AC Milan medical within the next 24 hours’ as USA star gets set to finally end tough four years with Chelsea

Christian Pulisic is reportedly set to have his medical with AC Milan within the next 24 hours ahead of his move from Chelsea.

The United States superstar was always expected to be part of the Premier League side’s summer exodus and AC Milan appears to have won the battle for his signature.

The Italian giants had two bids rejected but he’s now set to undergo his medical, according to ESPN

The winger had made it clear to Chelsea in recent weeks that heading to Milan was his preferred option, amid interest from Lyon, and the 24-year-old is expected to get his way.

As reported last week, AC Milan’s first two bids were rejected – the latter of which a $24million offer – but there was confidence the deal would get done as the parties discussed an improved, third offer.

The 24-year-old had a hugely difficult and disappointing season with the Blues.

The American has just one year left on his contract, meaning Chelsea ran the risk of losing him for nothing next year.

Pulisic made the move from Borussia Dortmund to Chelsea for $72m back in January 2019.

His time at the Premier League club has been hindered by injuries, unable to really nail down a regular place in the starting XI, and the most recent season was no different.

He netted just one goal and provided two assists in 30 appearances. He started just eight times in the Premier League as he fell out of favor.

He was heavily linked with a move to Serie A with AC, Juventus and Napoli all interested.

Chelsea’s Premier League rivals Manchester United and Newcastle were touted as possible landing spots as well.

Pulisic was booed on to the pitch by Chelsea fans during their final game of the season in May.

He came off the substitutes’ bench with just minutes left, replacing Noni Madueke, but was jeered by some sections of the home support in the 1-1 tie with Newcastle.

It left Chelsea all the way down in 12th to bring the curtain down on their turbulent 2022-23 campaign – the first season under the ownership of Todd Boehly.

Pulisic played his part in Chelsea’s Champions League glory two years ago, coming on as a substitute in the 1-0 victory over Manchester City in the Porto final.

He had scored an important goal in the first leg of the semifinal against Real Madrid, while also setting up Mason Mount to make it 2-0 in the return game.

Pulisic netted a brace in USA’s CONCACAF Nations League semi-final tie against Mexico earlier this month, before captaining the side to victory against Canada to claim their second consecutive title.
