Christina Aguilera sparks a fan frenzy as she arrives at her Melbourne afterparty following rained-out performance at Always Live festival

Christina Aguilera was swarmed by fans following her highly-anticipated performance at Always Live festival in Melbourne on Saturday night.

The American singer, who last performed in Australia 15 years ago, was mobbed by excited crowds as she arrived at her official afterparty at The Espy in St Kilda at around midnight.

The 42-year-old kept her cool as she waded through the frenzied crowd, accompanied by security guards and and assistants shielding her from the rain with umbrellas.

Looking every inch the pop diva, Christina sported a black-and-white shirt layered beneath a leather jacket, black mini skirt and fishnet tights.

She completed her look with leather thigh-high boots, an array of chunky silver chains and a pair of futuristic sunglasses.
