Chunk of ice from plane crashes through a couple’s roof

A California couple were watching TV Sunday night when a chunk of ice fell from a plane, crashed through their roof and landed on their bed.

Claudell Curry and his wife Odell Marie Curry, of San Bernardino, were in another room enjoying quality time together when they heard a ‘horrendous boom’.

The couple said their home shook violently when the chunk of ice the size of a car engine fell into their home.

Claudell told CBS that he found ice, pieces of insulation and drywall on their bed.

‘Snow white, just ice, and heavy. Each piece was like iron,’ he said.

The couple, who have lived in their neighborhood since the 1960s, said they are thankful they did not go to bed before the ice fell.

‘Something needs to be done about this, someone could get killed and we came close to it,’ Claudell said.

The Currys said they always hear planes overhead going to Los Angeles, but they have never experienced anything like what happened on Sunday.

But this isn’t the first time this has happened in California.

Last month, a chunk of ice fell onto Brandon Blanchard’s home in Chino, damaging his roof.

At the time, Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor believes the ice that fell onto Blanchard’s home could have formed on the outside of a passenger airliner.

The Currys reported the incident to the police and their insurance company.

As of Sunday, they did not call the FAA, which has said that it’s a rare occurrence.
