Cincinnati Bengals AJ Green fights with Jalen Ramsey

  • Star wide receiver AJ Green and opposing cornerback Jalen Ramsey were ejected during Cincinnati Bengals defeat at Jacksonville Jaguars
  • The pair were involved in a fight that saw Green throw punches at Ramsey
  •  Green is likely to see a ban to further dent the Bengals frustrating season

The battle between AJ Green and Jalen Ramsey was billed as a match-up to watch before the Cincinnati Bengals travelled to face the Jacksonville Jaguars.

That proved the case, with the hotheaded pair ejected before half-time after Bengals receiver Green reacted violently to a seemingly innocuous push from cornerback Ramsey.

A furious Green wrestled Ramsey to the floor, grabbing him around the neck from behind in a move befitting a wrestling ring.

But he wasn’t finished there. Several haymakers later and chaos reigned at EverBank Field.

Players from both teams waded in, pushing Green and shielding a floored Ramsey as the melee escalated to great effect.

The Bengals (3-5) eventually lost 7-23 in Jacksonville and while it has been a frustrating season for Green and Co, his actions on the field will surely lead to a further ban.

It was out of character for Green, who is known as one of the NFL’s good guys and a leader on the Bengals’ offense, albeit a frustrated unit so far this season.

Antonio Brown of the Pittsburgh Steelers was quick to leap to the defence of his AFC North compatriot, saying: ‘that’s not like AJ !!!Not like AJ like he got great attitude something must be going on!’ on Twitter.

Green was alleged to have said: ‘I want him. Give me one more shot,’ repeatedly after the incident.
