City centre is placed in lockdown as bloodied naked man climbs to the roof of a train station and refuses to come down – sparking tense police standoff

  • It is believed he first climbed out onto the window ledge at 6am on Saturday 
  • The man is known to police and was seen from a Perth street covered in blood  

A city centre has been placed in lockdown after a man believed to be naked and wrapped in a blanket climbed on to the roof of a train station.

The man, covered in blood, is refusing to climb down from a window sill on the roof of Perth Train Station in Wellington Street despite attempts from police.

It is understood negotiations have been ongoing since the man, who is known to police, first climbed the station at 6am on Saturday.

‘Police are currently at the Perth Train Station trying to negotiate with a male person who has climbed on to the roof of the railway station and refusing to get down,’ a spokesperson for police said.

Sections of Wellington street have been closed while negotiations are underway.
