Claymore: Two men rushed to hospital in south-western Sydney park with gunshot wounds

Two men have been shot in a suspected targeted attack in south-western Sydney on Saturday morning.

NSW Ambulance said they were called to two scenes – at Highfield Park, Proctor Way and the adjoining Dobell Avenue – at Claymore.

A man was found with gunshot wounds to his head and torso at Highfield Park at Claymore at about 9.30am, with police and paramedics racing to the scene.

A short time earlier, police were also called to a nearby shop responding to reports a man had been shot in the torso and had sought medical help.

In a statement NSW Police said they were called to a shop in Claymore following reports a man, suffering injuries to his torso, had sought medical help.

‘A short time later, police were called to a reserve on Proctor Way, Claymore, after a man was located with gunshot wounds to his head and torso,’ the statement continued.

‘Police have established a crime scene and an investigation has begun.

‘Initial inquiries have led police to believe the incident was targeted.’

There is still a large police presence at the scene, which has been taped off.
