Clown Purge Association to return to Australia Halloween

A group of clowns have threatened to descend upon cities across Australia and reignite the creepy craze as Halloween nears.

The Clown Purge Association announced their return on Facebook on Monday, promising ‘the best scare you’ve experienced in clown history.’

‘Get ready for the 2nd round Australia, we’re coming back for you and last night was only the beginning. We have big plans,’ the group wrote.

Within hours of asking the public to vote on where they should go first, the group of 50 clowns said they will begin their frightening tour next week in Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Cairns and Fraser Coast.

The clown craze originated in the U.S. last year and quickly gained traction in Australia, with a number of incidents being reported across the country.

Numerous people called police reporting sighting of clowns and in Victoria a woman was allegedly threatened by a clown with an axe.

A 15-year-old Queensland boy, who said he wanted to freak out his sisters, was arrested after he was allegedly spotted in a clown mask and carrying a knife in suburban Brisbane.

Commentors on Facebook were quick to react to the Clown Purge Association’s warning.

Some were eager to invite the group to their city, while many others seemed horrified by the threat.

The group responded to the slew of responses on Tuesday.

‘All these haters but we ain’t even in this to harm people, we are simply here to use Clown Horror as entertainment.’

‘Y’all saying we have nothing better to do but you’re sitting there putting hate on a f***ing clown page, okay.’

The group’s resurgence correlates with the release of IT, the remake of the classic horror movie movie based on a novel by Stephen King.

Last year South Australia’s police commissioner Grant Stevens said ‘anyone who dresses up as a clown with the intention of scaring other people can only be described as a d**khead,’ according to FiveAA.

‘There is enough for us out there to do now, without having to respond to instances where people think that this is funny,’ he said on Thursday.
