- Her condition remains unclear, and one audience member reportedly fainted in shock at the sight of the terrifying accident
A Coachella dancer plunged from rigging while she was suspended high above a stage during a live performance at the California music festival on Saturday.
Terrifying footage showed the dancer twirling upside-down about twenty feet off the stage while a DJ played a set, when she began to pivot upright and suddenly fell.
The woman plunged spinning to the stage below where she landed hard between a pair of speakers as audience members screamed in horror.
She had been dancing for about five minutes before the fall happened, according to TMZ, and it remains unclear whether she hurt herself while dancing and then fell or whether the fall was caused by a slip.
It wasn’t the first time a concert worker has been injured at Coachella. In 2019, a worker fell to his death while erecting a stage in preparation for the festival.

After the fall the dancer could be seen lying motionless as fellow dancers sprang to her aid.
Paramedics quickly arrived, and she could be seen lying motionless on her back as they tended to her – but the DJ played on.
Audience members asked the DJ to stop playing as the woman was treated, according to TMZ, and one member of the audience reportedly fainted in shock at the sight of the fall.
She was later strapped down to a stretcher and carried away.
The condition of the dancer remains unclear, but she could be seen blinking in the footage.
Coachella did not respond to DailyMail.com requests for comment about her condition or the cause of the fall.

In 2019, a worker fell to his death while erecting a stage in preparation for the festival.
The worker was a ‘lead rigger,’ and had been a stagehand for Coachella for twenty years, the festival said, describing him as ‘a colleague, a friend, a family member.’
‘He has been with our team for 20 years in the desert and was doing what he loved. He was a hard-working and loving person that cared deeply about his team. As our lead rigger, he was responsible for the countless incredible shows that have been put on at the festival.’
Officials said he fell from a roof while setting up a stage, and had died by the time authorities arrived.
Before that, in 2014 a 24-year-old Oakland woman died after she collapsed from a drug overdose at the festival.
Kimchi Truong was rushed to the hospital after passing out at a taxi stand at the festival, only to die days later. It was believed her overdose was caused by a mix of drugs and alcohol.
And in 2008, a 21-year-old festival-goes passed away after being found unresponsive at a private camping area unaffiliated with the official Coachella site.
