Cobra Kai surprises fans by revealing Season 6 Part 2 will debut two weeks earlier on November 15 as Part 1 launches on Netflix

Cobra Kai fans were given quite the welcomed surprise at the show’s Season 6 Part 1 premiere on Wednesday, where the stars and creators revealed Part 2 will drop early. 

The series – set decades after The Karate Kid movies – had already announced in January 2023 that the sixth season would be its last.

However, Netflix threw fans for a loop this May when it was  revealed that this final season would span 15 episodes – five more than the typical 10-episode season – though it would be split into three parts.

Part 1 debuted with the first five-episode segment on Thursday, with Part II originally set for release on November 28, though Part III with the final five episodes still doesn’t have a specific date, though it will drop in 2025.

During the Los Angeles premiere on Thursday, though, creators Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg announced during their introduction that Part II would be bumped up two weeks to November 15, which also coincides with another big fight.

They also announced the news to the fans in a fun video with stars Xolo Mariduena (Miguel Diaz), Jacob Bertrand (Eli “Hawk” Moskowitz) and Gianni DeCenzo (Demetri) practicing what to tell the fans and reporters before hitting the red carpet.

‘You heard it here first. Send it to the internet. November 15. Same day as Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson. Netflix Fight Night. No undercard. Two main events. Let’s do it,’ the creators said in a statement.

They also announced the news to the fans in a fun video with stars Xolo Mariduena (Miguel Diaz), Jacob Bertrand (Eli “Hawk” Moskowitz) and Gianni DeCenzo (Demetri) practicing what to tell the fans and reporters before hitting the red carpet.

Bertrand stand next to an easel telling Mariduena and DeCenzo, ‘OK, before we hit the carpet, we’re gonna go over it one more time,’ as they agree.

He flips a paper over on the easel and says, ‘Part 1… tomorrow…’ as Mariduna and DeCenzo finish, ‘July 18,’ as Bertrand flips over to the next sheet.

DeCenzo asks, ‘Are we getting it early?’ Bertrand answers, ‘We’re getting it early!’ as they all dance to celebrate as the brief video ends.

Still, despite the earlier drop, not all fans were happy to wait so long between each of the final season’s segments.

Instagram user @aiyshalynne15 commented, ‘I have to wait until November for Part 2???!!!!!!’

Another IG user, @calistaleung insisted, ‘plssss i don’t have the patience of mr miyagi.’

The first part of Season 6 finds the Cobra Kai senseis and students trying to determine if they will travel to the Sekai Taikai – the world championships of karate.

Ralph Macchio and William Zabka reprise their roles from The Karate Kid films as Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence.
