Cobram, Victoria: Woman’s body discovered in a house – as 39-year-old man assists police

A woman has been found dead inside a home in northern Victoria with a man known to her assisting police with their inquiries.

Emergency services were called to an home on Campbell Road in Cobram at about 2.15pm on Tuesday and found the woman’s body inside 260km north of Melbourne.

She is yet to be formally identified.

A Cobram man, 39, is currently being questioned by police.

Police believe the pair were known to each other.

‘Police are working to establish the exact circumstances around the death and the investigation remains ongoing,’ a statement read.

No charges have yet been laid.

The woman’s death comes just weeks after Hannah McGuire, 23 was allegedly killed by her ex-boyfriend Lachlan Young almost 300km away in Clunes near Ballarat. 

Teaching assistant and mother-of-one Molly Ticehurst, 28, was found dead inside her home in the NSW town of Forbes, about 370km west of Sydney early Monday.

Ms Ticehurst’s ex-boyfriend Daniel Billings have been charged with her alleged murder.
