Coca Cola have launched an ‘intergalactic’ flavour which they claim ‘taste like space’ as part of a brand new creation range.

The zero sugar drink officially launches in the UK today as is distinct from classic Coke as its bright red in colour.

While it contains carrot and blackcurrant flavourings, the US food giant haven’t given it a distinct flavour – with reviewers claiming it taste like candy floss and marshmallow.    

Coke say intergalactic is a ‘refreshing take on a much-loved Coca-Cola taste’ with an ‘innovative dash of the unexpected and the delicious’.

Coca-Cola Intergalactic is the first limited edition product under Coca-Cola Creations, a new platform which takes the Coca-Cola brand and lends it to new expressions, driven by collaboration, creativity and cultural connections.

Over 2022 Coca-Cola will collaborate to create new flavours, designs and experiences.

The company claims it will be reimagining it’s drinks with time-limited editions inspired by relevant moments across culture, music and gaming, in both the physical and digital worlds. 

Shoppers who pick up an intergalactic cans will be able to access to the world’s first ‘Concert on a Coca-Cola’ by scanning a QR code.

During the performance, cosmic viewers will see US singer  Ava Max performing songs including ‘Kings & Queens,’ ‘Sweet but Psycho’ and ‘EveryTime I Cry’—surrounded by red liquid and gradient lighting.

Other digital elements for fans to interact with include Instagram filters, ASMR experiences and more.

Joshua Schwarber, Senior Director, Global Digital Design told FEMAIL: ‘For this first Coca-Cola Creation, we had the opportunity to ask ourselves what could space taste like, and we couldn’t be more excited to introduce our first Coca-Cola Creation in Europe – Intergalactic – our limited edition, space-themed Coca-Cola that aims to bring some of the magic and mystery of everything that we love about space to life with every single sip.’

Available to purchase for a limited time only, in participating stores nationwide, Coca-Cola® Intergalactic is available in a 250ml can with an RRP of 77p.
