Coco Gauff advances to third round at Paris Olympics as American’s quest for FIRST gold medal remains alive

Coco Gauff’s quest for a first Olympic gold medal remains alive after she beat Argentina’s Maria Lourdes Carle on Monday.

The American won in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1 to move into the third round.

She’ll look to continue rolling in her next match vs. Croatia’s Donna Vekic.

On Sunday, the 20-year-old became the youngest American woman to win a singles match at the Olympics since Venus Williams in 2000.

And her USA teammates impressed on Sunday as well as Danielle Collins, Emma Navarro and Jessica Pegula all won their matches and advanced.
