Coco Rocha has treated fashionistas to a behind the scenes look at what really went into her incredible crane cover shoot for Grazia Australia’s ‘Reinvention Issue’.

In a video shared on her official Instagram account, the Canadian model, 31, is seen posing up a storm while dangling from a construction crane in Brooklyn, New York City, without a safety net or harness.

Dressed in a monochrome polka dot dress by Dolce and Gabbana and quirky striped brogues, the mother-of-two shows no fear as she launches herself into the air from the steps of a ladder.

Clinging to the hook of the crane with only one arm, Coco twists and turns for the camera, extending her endless legs gracefully like a ballerina.

Sharing the cover shoot with her 1.4 million Instagram followers, Coco revealed the crane concept was entirely her idea – but it took some convincing to get the production team on board.

‘Super proud of this second Grazia cover!’ she captioned the post.

‘We had already shot the story and multiple cover options, but there was literally about five minutes left in the day so I suggested we try one last shot of me hanging from a crane that was stationed outside the studio.

‘Somehow I got the whole team on board for this insurance nightmare, and let’s just call this an advanced model move that is NOT to be tried at home!’

On her modelling career, Coco said she thinks of the job as acting without words.

‘As models, we really only have our faces and bodies to tell an entire story, often in one moment,’ she told Grazia.

‘Because we can’t rely on words or sounds, I think we are sort of like silent movie stars.

‘I really try to take my profession seriously and channelling different characters and emotions is something I work hard at.’

Known as one of the world’s first ‘digital’ supermodels, Coco was one of the first models to use social media to build her reputation.
