Colin Farrell and Eva Green star in first trailer for Tim Burton’s remake of Dumbo 

Disney has released the first trailer for their live-action, re-make of Dumbo.

Starring Colin Farrell, 42, and Eva Green, 37, the new one-minute-and-20-second clip opens viewers’ eyes to Tim Burton’s re-imagining of the animated classic.

‘Look at that,’ are the first words uttered from the mouth of The Guard actor upon finding the large-eared elephant.

The first visuals from the film open to the tune of Baby Mine, the famed song that introduced the world to Dumbo in the original 1941 animated film.

In this short teaser trailer, the elephant is found in a pile of hay by former showman and one-armed war veteran Holt Farrier – played by Farrell – and his two children, Milly (Nico Parker) and Joe (Finley Hobbins).

‘We’re all family here no matter how small,’ says Milly to the fresh-eyed titular star voiced by Frank Welker.

The spectacle-filled film follows Holt, ‘a former circus star who finds his life turned upside down when he returns from the war,’ reported Deadline.

‘Circus owner Max Medici, played by Danny DeVito enlists him to care for a newborn elephant whose oversize ears make him a laughingstock in an already struggling circus.

‘But when Holt’s children discover that Dumbo can fly, persuasive entrepreneur V.A. Vandevere (Keaton) and aerial artist Colette Marchant (Green) swoop in to make the peculiar pachyderm a star.’

Tim Burton’s frequent collaborator Danny Elfman is on board to do the soundtrack for the film.

It is based upon a storyline written by Helen Aberson and is a full-length adaptation of Walt Disney’s 1941 animated film of the same name written by Otto Englander, Joe Grant, and Dick Huemer.

Ehren Kruger adapted the screenplay into this modern version. 

Dumbo is set to hit theaters March 29, 2019.
