Colin Fassnidge looks bothered judging MKR’s newest crop

The new season of My Kitchen Rules will air on Channel Seven in early 2018.

And the latest crop of aspiring chefs looked excited to be given the chance to impress judges Colin Fassnidge and Pete Evans in October during filming.

However, chef Colin appeared hot and bothered during the outdoor cooking challenge at Sydney’s Centennial Park in October.

Too hot in the kitchen? Colin Fassnidge appears bothered while judging MKR’s newest crop with co-host Pete Evans during outside cooking challenge in Sydney’s Centennial Park

He wore long dark blue jeans and boots with a patterned top and navy vest.

Colin was seen pulling faces while uncomfortably re-arranging his long-sleeve button-up shirt and opening his vest.

The Dublin-born restaurateur unbuttoned his collared shirt between takes as he’s believed to have attempted to cool down.

Meanwhile, co-host Pete Evans was all smiles as sauntered onto the set in a crisp-white dress shirt, blue suit jacket, jeans and boots.

The paleo foodie appeared as cool as a cucumber during filming, keeping his suit jacket on and buttons done up in the sunshine.

He didn’t appear to break a sweat as he judged the contestant’s creations at a private table with Colin.

Celebrity chef Colin has returned for his fifth season, after previously laughing off reports he’d been being given the chop from the cooking show in 2017.

Rumours claimed he was set to be axed from the series for turning up ‘late and hungover’ on-set, but the celebrity chef told Daily Mail Australia that was not the case.

‘If I was getting fired I wouldn’t be here,’ he said with a chuckle at last season’s launch event in Sydney.

Real estate dynamo Jess Alvial and her sister Emma Byron were seen messy in their branded cooking show aprons.

However, fans of the show are unlikely to see the all-female duo on the show after they were at the centre of a row with an all-male team at a Tasmanian hotel.

It’s believed they were embroiled in a November stoush with a male team in Launceston, which led them to be axed from the series.

The incident reportedly involved a confrontation after the women heard ‘someone saying something particularly insensitive about a young boy’.

The sneak peek of the eight teams comes after Channel Seven has confirmed one duo was AXED mid-season for ‘inappropriate conduct.’

An insider told the Daily Telegraph that two teams had a scuffle inside a Launceston hotel because one believed they had heard the other making inappropriate comments about them.

According to the source, the comments were overheard as one team walked past the other’s room and was witnessed by hotel staff.

It’s believed a number of on-air clashes had already been filmed between the two teams before the brawl took place.

‘Meetings were held almost immediately in Tasmania and again once the cast and crew returned to Sydney,’ the inside told the newspaper.

The other team – and the six other pairs of contestants – will remain in the competition.

A spokeswoman for Channel Seven confirmed ‘an incident’ took place and that one team had been dropped as a result.

‘Someone crossed a line that shouldn’t be crossed,’ Seven’s head of publicity Susan Wood told the Daily Telegraph.

This isn’t the first time the popular prime time show has caused a stir.

Foul-mouthed Josh from 2017’s season called Amy a ‘s***’ after being handed a meal which led to a ‘talking to’ from Manu Feildel.

And who can forget the TV war between arch rivals Chloe and Kelly from WA and Melbourne twins Vikki and Helena? Their fiery exchanges were featured in some of the series’ most-watched shows.

The new season of the show will start on January 29.
