Collins Trucks driver ploughs into a flock of sheep in Adelaide

Shocking footage shows the moment a truck driver ploughed into a flock of hundreds of sheep after failing to notice the animals crossing the road in the dead of night.

The truckie, working for Collins Trucks Adelaide, was driving on a two-lane highway last Wednesday evening when the incident occurred.

The driver turns a corner before suddenly flicking on the truck’s high beams,  revealing the massive flock of sheep attempting to cross the road.

Helplessly the man slams on the brakes, but can’t avoid smashing into more than 100 animals.

When the truck eventually comes to a stop, terrified sheep who survived the incident can be seen running off the road.

‘It’s not often you get a farmer moving a flock of sheep at 10 o’clock at night,’ an employee at Collins Trucks told Daily Mail Australia.

A spokesperson for Collins Trucks said the driver was ‘absolutely fine’ but wouldn’t comment any further on the matter.

South Australia Police has been contacted for a comment.
